It connects to my computer thru a USB port, and you can plug in a TV cable and start the software and you can watch TV on your computer!!
Is that neat, or what!
We're getting the camper ready for a trip to Durham, and the Mom says: "Let's get a small TV for the camper." I'm already bring the puter to keep in touch, so let me do some research on this. I stumple upon this "TV Box" thing, It cost $29.99 from TigerDirect and it comes with a remote control!
Not the easiest gadgit I ever played with, I had to load the software 3 times, but when I got it to work it was awsome! I can sit back and work the remote, just like at home! So it looks like the camper mow has wireless internet and TV!
But wait......... there's more! With this box you can input to the computer with a video camra, stereo audio, or a DVD player!
You can capture stills from any input device.
Now comes the really good part, my Polroid digital camera has serial connection that I can't hook-up to my new notebook, I even had to look for a driver that would work with WindowsXP, but with this "TV Box" I can connect the camera thru this connection that allows you to view pictures on a TV.
I connect the camera with this connection to the video input of the "TV Box" and I can view the pictures on my puter and capture it as a still!! WOW what a great feature! I can now download pictures from my old camera to my new computer! (something I couldn't do before). Now I can take my camera with us as we travel and take as many pictures as I want!

The Silverfox

This week end we took the hunting blind down to move it!
When we seperated it, we found the hive! This year my boss is a sponsor and he asked me to shoot in it. He gets to have two shooters, which are included with the sponsorship. I'd never shot this kind of match before, and I not famous for my wing shooting, but why not! If it goes bang and it's for free, it has all the elements needed to make me happy!
There were 10 stations, where we shot 2 birds 5X, 100 rounds all together. The course was layed out in such a way that it was a good walk between stations. I have never seen so many golf carts in one place! Even at a golf course! We started on station #4 and worked our way around, back to station #3, which was the end for us. This way everybody finishes at about the same time. There were 2 relays one started at 8:00 and we started at 11:00, we finished at about 1:15. We then had a very nice lunch of brisket and all the fixins, and a drawing for 10 shotguns and a silent auction with items that would take a weeks pay for me to bid on!
Needless to say all I came home with was the goodie bag they gave everyone, a T-shirt, cap, crying towel, bumper stickers and a pen! Hey, it was a great day shooting and I got all this neat stuff!

The game itself is alot of fun, with many of the stations a real challenge, Oh! my score? I started out thinking I would be a real embarrassment, with getting only 3 of the first 10, as we went along I got better, ( the last station I got 9 out of 10 ) finishing with 62 out of the 100. Not bad for the first time out!

West Texas Boys Ranch
http://www.wtbr.org/

The Silverfox

Well, the "stealth hunter" had to go into the shop! One of the brakes was stickin' and that really slowed the buggy down. I picked it up with a trailer I borrowed from one of the guys on the lease. A 5x7 trailer with ramps to load up. Before I loaded it up, I decide to take a little cruise around. BIG mistake! I did pick up some antler "sheds" form around my blind, these are the deer's antlers that fall off after the breeding season. Both were from 8 pointers, both from the right side. A nice find, so I tried a look over by Jim's blind. The 'stealth hunter", pooped out when I tried to cross a dried-up stock tank ( this is a pond like tank ) I had crossed a few time before. It's big hollow scouped out and surounded by a berm about 5 ft high. Well as I came up the other side, my buggy just wouldn't go any more and I rolled down into the tank! A half mile walk back to the truck ( w/trailer attached ) and a collection of ropes, I was able to pull the buggy up to the top of the berm. Now I just have to position the trailer and roll down the berm and up the ramps and onto the trailer. Good plan! I almost got it on the trailer and the rear wheel fell off the ramp! Now the thing is sitting at an weird angle! I puller the trailer foward and let the buggy drop to the ground. I though about leaving it there until I could get the guys to help me push it on. Then I get this great idea to use the tiedown strap ( which has a ratching thingy the tighten it down ), so I attach one end to the trailer front and the other to the buggy and start ratching, the cart moves about a foot and the ratche is full, block the wheel and get another bite and start ratching some more! I'm getting about a foot with each try, so the whole thing takes about an hour! Well the thing is finially on the trailer and strapped down and I'm off! It turns out I've got a bad battery ( one of the 6 ), since they are connected in series, it won't go without a good battery.
I finially get it to the shop and now it's fixed! Only $86 fixed! A used battery($25) and two brake cables and labor! But she's running like she is supposed to and I'm ready for turkey season, which starts April 1st!
Wish me luck........cause I'll need it!

Here turky, turkey,turkey,gooble,gooble gooble!

The Silverfox

The Silverfox
March 5th, the rimfire match was shot ( with only 6 shooters ), and it was a little windy! The SilverFox placed 3rd, with a score of 491! Man, these guys are gittin tough to beat, only 3 points between me and the winner ( Bobby ). There was some talk of going to a different target, but we didn't try it this time because of the wind.
The weather is getting nicer by the day, except we sure could use some rain. Next match is the first Sat in April.

The Silverfox

The Silverfox says it's too cold to do anything, stay home and watch the Olympics!
Last week it was almost 90 degrees, yesterday it was 26!
Whats up wid dat!

The Ruger #3 does it again!

It finally cooled down, so I've been trying to get out for the past couple of weeks but there's was just too many things to do. ( you know how that story goes! ) I had to work Fri, but decided to get up early Sat and drive to the lease and be there before sun up. I left home at 4:30AM ( yes , that's AM ) and drove the 92 miles to the ranch only to find none of the other guys were there. By 6:30 I was settled in my blind looking out at a very foggy morning. I could see some deer moving in the brush but I couldn't see them to be sure, I was straining to see them thru the scope when a doe walks right out in front of me not 30 yds away! All she presented was a "Texas Heart Shot", so I watched her walk to the other 2 "things' in the brush. A 6 point buck then joined our little party and finally showed himself, offering me a nice 75 yd shot! Bang........Plop, down he goes! The Ruger #3 has done it again!
Truly my favorite hunting rifle! The buck dropped strait down and didn't move a muscle.
Looks like there will be some jerky for Christmas!
Below is a picture of this buck!

This is the deer I shot Sat morning, using my Ruger #3 in 30-40 Krag. The last week-end I saw some very nice deer! A 10 pointer and a 6 pointer with a really wide rack! I watched him for about 20 min and could not see any brow tines on him! He'll probably never get any, he's been seen last year with a smaller rack rack without brow tines, so if he shows up Sat. I think I'll call him "jerky"! A few years ago, I shot what I thought was a 10 pointer, but he also had no brow tines.
With any luck, maybe I'll see some turkey and try for some Thanksgiving goodies!
I'll keep all y'all posted! I placed 2nd, losing the win by only 1 point! I shot a 484 ( possible 500 ) and lose to a 485! If only the 7, I shot on the last target was a 9, but ........ but ........ but, it wasn't! My last target was bad! Three 9"s, an 8 and a 7.........blaaa. Of course by then the wind was blowing ( my best excuse ), but the wind was blowing for everybody! The 50 yd targets were easy, as there was no wind at all, I almost shot a perfect score, missing the ten ring only once, for a 249 out of a possible 250. The 100yd targets are the ones that make this match so challanging!
Oh well, There's always next month!

The Silverfox

The Silverfox
Did a friend ever lend you his Corvette, or any other “Hot Sports Car for the day?
Well, that’s what it felt like this past weekend! One of my shooting buddies wanted me to shoot his custom bench gun in our club’s bench rest match. It was a custom Hart action with an H&S stock with a bull barrel ( don’t remember the brand ), in 22PPC caliber.
What a dream to shoot! My first target measured .175 inches and it was enough to win the 100 yd small group! Overall, I came in 3rd place out of the six shooters. I think I’m hooked! I gotta have one!
My second target wasn’t so good, but I put 3 shots in one hole on the sighter target! Wow, the 3 shoot sighter group measured .024 inches …….. it was down hill from there!
First target .175
Second .447
Third .247
Fourth .457
Fifth .296
Then it was on to the 200yd targets:
Sixth .889
Seventh 1.316
Eighth 1.069
Ninth .928
Tenth 1.299
By the time we started at 200 yds , the wind started to really gust! I was holding 3 ¾” to the right of the impact point from my 100 yd zero!
I’ll try to scan in the targets.

Fun and games with my GPS !

This is the Savage/Anschuz I use in the matches. I won it with 490 out of a possible 500. It's the first time I won this match in the 2 years I've been shooting it! So, it's a really BIG win for me! I used some new ammo ( Wolf Match Extra ) which really made the difference. The targets are official "Hunter Class" benchrest targets, that are used in a high power rifle match. We shoot the 100 yd target at 50 yds, and the 200 yd target at 100 yds. This is a stretch with a 22 rim fire and a lot of fun. All I won was the bragging rights untill the next match, and I'm making the most of it!

<img border='0' style='border:1px solid #000000;
